Default MY Drag Pak finally arrived

After waiting for 14 months, my Challenger Drag Pak was finally ready to be picked up....

We picked a great builder to do the cage, brakes, and mount our rear end... (Don't know if I can give his name here since he isn't an advertiser, but he Built the prototypes, and first two Drag Paks completely and has done half of them so far.) so the car was picked up and delivered to him. We then went up on Tuesday to finalize the work plan and get pictures.

We made a couple of decisions that were different than everyone else, but we think this will give us an edge weight wise and consequently our times.

Oh by the way, we got number 24 of the expected 50 to be built.... Initially there were to be 100 built, but frankly I am surprised we got to 24..

I know know an awful lot more about these cars than I ever thought was possible, but the first few were really "one of,s" and there is a story for each one of them. The tag you see here is the second gen tag, as the first ones were stamped embossed and attached with one screw, now they are engraved and riveted in place. And I know lots more too... If you have a Drag Pak PM me, there is a lot to talk about.

David , the New Hemi Guy!

Wow. That lift off hood is so massive. Congrats! 14 months isn't exactly a short period of time, and 50 (or 100 for that matter) isn't exactly a large number! Congrats again! Is there a specific reason you decided to go with the 5.7?

We expect to get the car back in early November, and after we get the transmission in, we will be hitting the track before Thanksgiving.

The hood is carbon fiber and so light you can take it off by just grabbing the scoop and lifting it, after taking out the clips of course..

And it isn't a 5.7, it is a 6.1... All of the Drag Paks come badged as RTs in the grill.

There are only 5 - 5.7s ordered so that wouldn't have been a bad decision either based on the rarity. And the 5.9 Wedge will only ship about 2. So that will be even more rare.

But I wanted to see if we can compete in A/SA so the 6.1 was my choice. I hear these 6.1s are making about 620+ hp, and there is more to be gained. At least one Drag Pak has already hit the high nines, and our plan is get there and then get quicker. And that will take a 6.1.

David

Nice. I will be looking forward to Nov. I can't wait to watch your plan unfold.
I remember watching a video of one doing 10.2's with alright traction. The front lifted up a bit too Keep us posted.
